Director of Information Technology

ABOUT PROVIDENCE ACADEMY

Providence Academy is a Catholic independent school in Plymouth, Minnesota, serving approximately 945 students in grades Pre-K through 12. We offer a rigorous classical and liberal arts education grounded in the Catholic intellectual tradition. 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Information Technology is a member of the senior administration reporting to the Headmaster. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, academic technology integration, and enterprise systems. The Director will work collaboratively with academic and administrative leadership and will have access to additional technical support staff for day-to-day operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead technology strategy aligned with the school’s mission
  • Oversee all infrastructure: network, servers, identity management, device management, security camera systems, and enterprise applications
  • Manage cybersecurity policy, incident response, and compliance with FERPA, CIPA, and applicable Minnesota privacy law
  • Manage the student information system and other school-wide platforms
  • Partner with faculty and academic leadership on instructional technology integration
  • Lead community education on responsible and effective technology use, including emerging AI tools

TECHNOLOGY ENVIRONMENT

Providence Academy operates a Windows and Chromebook environment, with Google Workspace.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field; master’s preferred
  • Five or more years of progressive IT leadership, preferably in an educational or institutional setting
  • Competency across network administration, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-technical colleagues
  • Experience in a mission-driven or independent school environment is a plus

SALARY RANGE

$105,000 to $125,000, depending on relevant credentials and experience.

Senior Accountant

Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Director of Business Office and Operations, this position is responsible for the management of accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, account reconciliation and analysis, payroll and benefits, budgeting, auditing and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and yearly close activities
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliations for balance sheet and revenue accounts and resolve discrepancies on a monthly basis
  • Collaborate with Human Resources in overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll and related tax reporting and accounting of benefit and ensuring proper recording of payroll and benefits transactions
  • Assist with budget preparation, monitoring and variance analysis
  • Play an active role in preparing audit schedules requested by auditors for the annual financial audit, 403(b) retirement plan audit and worker’s compensation audit
  • Respond to inquiries regarding financial transactions and request for ad hoc reports

General Support

  • Support the Director of Business Office and Operations with special projects
  • Serve as back up to other Business Office staff in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Ensure that financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with school administrators and staff

  • Proficiency in financial accounting systems and advanced knowledge of Excel.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    Minimum of 6 years of applicable experience required
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit and fund accounting
  • Experience with general ledger, account reconciliations and the audit process

Starting Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000

Lower School Learning Specialist

Position Summary

Providence Academy seeks an experienced and faith-filled Learning Specialist to join our Lower School faculty.  The Learning Specialist role is to ensure that students with specialized learning needs make successful academic progress in the Lower School and gain lifelong learning tools while embracing the school’s mission. The role involves conducting regular reading and math screenings; reviewing educational evaluations and implementing recommendations; setting goals; creating and communicating classroom accommodations; collaborating with teachers; and providing regular updates to teachers, students, and their parents on academic progress. The role also includes coaching students in applying organizational, reading, math, and study strategies to help them achieve academic proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Support and Assessments

  • Be knowledgeable of various best practices in teaching students with learning diagnoses (familiarity with the DSM-V).
  • Coordinate regular reading and math assessments of all LS students, including interpreting results and offering support to students below grade level
  • Create and manage student accommodation plans to address unique learning challenges.
  • Track student progress and achievement with student accommodation plans in coordination with the Lower School student support team
  • Coordinate and manage files and/or paperwork in relation to students with learning needs.

Instructional Coordination Responsibilities

  • Meet with students individually or in a small group as needed for academic support in phonics, reading, math, and/or study skill enhancement.
  • Interface with counselors, teachers, parents, administrators, and medical professionals, and school district special education personnel related to diagnoses and interventions for learning differences.
  • Communicate suggested study methods for parents to utilize at home to enhance skills and support their students’ academic success.
  • Collaborate with other learning support personnel across the school divisions to ensure a continuum of academic support for students with learning needs.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher with a strong knowledge base in identifying and accommodating learning differences. 
  • Reading specialist endorsement or specialized training in this area.
  • Ideal candidates will have at least three to five years of teaching experience, an understanding of differentiated instruction, a flexible and team-oriented approach, excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, and superior interpersonal skills.

Starting Salary Range: $55,000-75,000 – commensurate with qualifications and experience

Substitute Teacher - Grades Pre-K - 5

  • Pre-K or Elementary experience is required for Pre-K through Grade 5 assignments.
  • Available for short call
