Assistant Director of the Lower School
Position Summary
Providence Academy seeks an experienced and faith-filled candidate to join our Lower School team. The Assistant Director of the Lower School works closely with the Lower School Director to support teachers and students to ensure the best possible learning experience. Key Responsibilities
- Build positive relationships with teachers, students, and families
- Oversee the creation of the Lower School main schedule and individual teacher schedules
- Schedule and supervise Lower School teacher assistants
- Direct after school extended day program
- Schedule supervision for before and after school care (Little Pals/Kidventures programs)
- Help develop and implement school-wide behavior expectations
- Maintain student discipline in alignment with the school’s mission, often working closely with the teacher and director to support students who may be struggling
- Support teachers with classroom management strategies and behavioral interventions
- Communicate with families regarding behavioral concerns and interventions
- Provide support and mentorship to new faculty members
- Contribute to the Student Support Team, which reviews student needs and tracks progress
- Daily teaching component
- Assist with curriculum reviews and new initiative implementation
- Provide opportunities for teachers/staff to receive necessary technology information/training
- Support teachers/staff with technology usage
- Ensure that teachers/staff have the tools they need to be successful in their work
- Assist in determining and executing opportunities for professional development
Qualifications
- Committed, practicing Catholic, enthusiastic about living, modeling and teaching the Catholic faith
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field preferred
- Experience teaching in an elementary school setting
- Strong knowledge of student behavior management that honors the importance of relationships
- Excellent communication, leadership, curriculum, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
Starting Salary Range: $60,000-80,000 – commensurate with qualifications and experience
Senior Accountant
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Director of Business Office and Operations, this position is responsible for the management of accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, account reconciliation and analysis, payroll and benefits, budgeting, auditing and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Support timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
- Perform monthly, quarterly and yearly close activities
- Prepare and maintain reconciliations for balance sheet and revenue accounts and resolve discrepancies on a monthly basis
- Collaborate with Human Resources in overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll and related tax reporting and accounting of benefit and ensuring proper recording of payroll and benefits transactions
- Assist with budget preparation, monitoring and variance analysis
- Play an active role in preparing audit schedules requested by auditors for the annual financial audit, 403(b) retirement plan audit and worker’s compensation audit
- Respond to inquiries regarding financial transactions and request for ad hoc reports
General Support
- Support the Director of Business Office and Operations with special projects
- Serve as back up to other Business Office staff in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
- Ensure that financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail
Ability to complete and manage multiple tasks and deadlines - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with school administrators and staff
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficiency in financial accounting systems and advanced knowledge of Excel.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum of 6 years of applicable experience required - Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit and fund accounting
- Experience with general ledger, account reconciliations and the audit process
Starting Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000

Starting Pay:
- $25.95/hour (0-2 years experience)
- $28.39/hour (2+ years experience)
Hours:
- Split shifts (typically 6:30am-8:30am and 3:00pm-5:00pm)
- Additional hours available based on Field Trip and Athletic schedules
Requirements:
- 21 years of age or older
- Class B driver’s license with School Bus and Passenger endorsements (preferred but not required – we will train)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Van Drivers:
Starting Pay: $20.01/hour
Hours:
- Split shifts (typically 6:30am-8:30am and 3:00pm-5:00pm)
- Additional hours available based on Field Trip and Athletic schedules
Requirements:
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid Class D driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Accounts Payable & Receivable Specialist
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable & Receivable (AP/AR) Specialist helps manage the school’s financial inflow and outflow by ensuring accurate and timely processing of all outgoing vendor payments and tuition, fees and lunch billing, payments and collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, code and process vendor invoices
- Verify invoices against Purchase Orders (POs) and supporting documents to ensure that the goods or services were delivered as ordered
- Schedule and coordinate weekly payments including printing of physical checks
- Maintain vendor W-9 files
- Manage tuition, fees and lunch account billing and payments
- Monitor and collect on aging and delinquent tuition, fees and lunch accounts.
- Maintain organized digital and physical vendor files
- Resolve invoice and billing discrepancies
- Process credit card transactions
General Support
- Support the Business Office with special projects
- Assist in the annual financial audit as it pertains to accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
